SUSRUR's consortium held a webinar on 15 March 2024 to answer the questions about the INNOVATE open call opportunity for SMEs in the tourism sector from 5 rural & remote areas of Europe. Potential applicants were given the opportunity to learn more about the details of the open call and the application process, as well as to ask questions to the consortium members.

The INNOVATE call, open from February 1, 2024, aims to support up to 80 tourism SMEs in implementing sustainable and innovative practices. With an indicative budget of € 560 000, each selected applicant is eligible for a grant up to € 7 000.

The Open Call #2 objectives: 

  • Uptake and replicate good practices to enhance SMEs sustainability. 
  • Promote adoption of sustainable practices through Certification Schemes and/or Labels (OPTIONAL). 
  • Develop management skills for SMEs' overall performance in digital and green transition. 

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA: 

Only applicants legally based on one of the following five regions are eligible under the call: 

  • Asturias (Spain) 
  • Western Macedonia (Greece) 
  • Harghita (Romania) 
  • Utena (Lithuania) 
  • Steirisches Vulkanland (Austria)

The call will be limited to tourism enterprises under at least one of the following NACE classes: 

  • H49 - Land transport and transport via pipelines 
  • I55 - Accommodation 
  • I56 - Food and beverage service activities 
  • N79 - Travel agency, tour operator reservation service and related activities 
  • R90 - Creative, arts and entertainment activities 
  • R91 - Libraries, archives, museums and other cultural activities 
  • R93 - Sports activities and amusement and recreation activities 
  • Other if related to scope of SUSRUR project. 

Applicants that received funding during SUSRUR Open Call #1 - ACCELERATOR are ineligible under this call. 

The INNOVATE call for SMEs support will be open until 3 April 2024, 17:00 CET!
